Annual PL Review

The Northern Ireland Degree in Social Work Partnership: Annual Practice Learning Review was held on Thursday 7th September at the Belfast Metropolitan College, Titanic Campus.

This annual event focused on exploring ‘practice learning within organisational change’ through informative practice experiences from partner agencies.  Presentations by QUB, UU, SHSCT, Education Authority and the Probation Board Northern Ireland provided insights into the concept of change and the challenges, opportunities and  innovative methods to support students, practice teachers, on site supervisors and teams to provide excellent practice learning opportunities and outcomes.

Denise MacDermott (UU) presented new and evolving methods of teaching and assessment through ‘Digital Learning and Practice’ with exciting examples of the use of technology from student perspectives.

The event also provided an opportunity to reflect upon the successes of practice learning in 2016-17, changes within the Partnership and looking forward to 2017-18  to continually develop robust processes and systems in response to change and ongoing feedback from key stakeholders.

The event was a great success with 115 delegates representing all partnership agencies.  Feedback was extremely positive and will inform future events in 2018.
